Chibi-Robo - 3D Fan Art - Mike Brant

Following the announcement of the Chibi-Robo game coming to Switch 2 GameCube service I knew I had to make a quick "1 Day" fan art project in honor of it! I adored that game growing up even though I never finished it. The simple design of the world and characters, the simple satisfying exploration loop with the power mechanic and most of all the small scale world style that I have always loved ever since I first saw "Honey I Shrunk the Kids"

This project was done during a "1 Day" project which can either refer to a single few hours of a project, a full 8 hours of a day or a full 24 hours of work. This one ended up being within the 8 hour day of work getting it all the way from Reference gathering to final Unreal renders. I had to stop myself from fully and perfectly matching the exact design/placement from the original game cover art as I knew this was gonna be a quicker project for fun so I wouldn't need to agonize about perfectly matching reference like I would normally do for a job. Wanted to get everything just close enough so that the first faux image of the cover might be able to potentially fool some people at a glance. Very fun project to run through the whole pipeline!
