Shipping Container - Substance Painter - Practice

This was a practice project I did to get a better feel with realistic rendering inside of Substance Painter. I found a free to use model of a basic shipping container online. Completely junked the existing UV's and did some basic up-rezzing of the low poly model. Only the clean variant was specifically using the reference. I pushed the other 2 dirty variants based off the clean reference but they weren't built off any specific rusty reference. Mostly just pushing Substance to see how much I could and learn some good techniques.

I had a passing familiarity with Substance Painter but had yet to actual work on a full project. I knew it could increase my work speed but I didn't appreciate just how modular it was built. Really understanding what "generators" could do was huge!

This was a fantastic learning experience and it gave me a great appreciation of what Substance can do. I made a few mistakes early on that I want to improve in my next project but overall I'm very happy with the result! The simple fact that you can fix small UV mistakes pretty far into the process is a massive help. I used the uploaded material reference as a basic jumping off point but knew I wanted to push the actual materials a bit farther than that relatively flat reference.
